Hi, I’m EVE PETERS.
My education includes a BA from Stanford, JD from UC Berkeley Law, and an MA in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute. Before becoming a therapist, I held director-level positions in tech and founded a dating app company. I have been to the depths with autoimmune disease and chronic pain, with my own relationships and heartbreaks, and with the intensely beautiful and challenging transformation that is motherhood. I believe all of these experiences have helped to make me a particularly unique and effective therapist.
My areas of focus are couples, relationships, premarital-marital counseling, pregnancy and postpartum, transitions to parenthood, heartbreak, divorce, young adulting, DBT skills, and chronic pain. I offer modern, evidence-based therapy, while drawing wisdom from Buddhism, Judaism, and yoga.
My practice is eclectic. Our sessions may incorporate psychodynamic therapy, DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), somatic therapy, IFS (internal family systems), meditation, breathwork, and even yoga, if you would like. With couples, I draw from EFT (emotionally focused therapy), Gottman, and the wisdom of Esther Perel.
I’ll ask questions to find out what you’re looking for from therapy, and we will collaborate on the best process and path forward.

My Approach
While I am pragmatic and results-oriented in this work, what you will feel when we meet is that I am soft landing. A place to breathe deeply, discover your truth, and unload your burdens. The process of therapy will help you gain insight and awareness. Together, we will collaborate on effecting changes you want to make in yourself and your life.
I offer sessions three ways: online video, by phone, or in-person outdoors in Berkeley. I encourage you to try multiple approaches, as you may be surprised by which one allows you to experience therapy at its greatest depth.

I offer the following options for psychotherapy sessions. Normal sessions are 50 minutes long; please inquire for specialized pricing if you are seeking a longer session length. If you are not sure which option is best for you, I am happy to discuss with you during our consultation call.
